Torek lived on Vulcan for 60 years. Torek went to Earth to learn of the human ways. After living on Earth for another 5 years, he applied for Star Fleet Academy. After graduations, Torek was stationed at Star base 283 as a science officer. At the age of 75, Torek was a lieutenant and he was sent on an exploration group to study wormholes at Jupiter Station. When he was 83, Torek achieved the rank of lieutenant commander. He was also sent back to Star base 283 to become an assistant engineer. After 12 years, Torek was assigned to the U.S.S. Ambassador and promoted to chief engineer. 9 years later, he became chief of security and went to Utopia Planitia. Torek was promoted to commander and started 3 years of work on improving gravity plating. He then went on shore leave to Risa where he met an ambitious young lieutenant Tlaloc Pitt. Torek and Pitt were mugged by three Ferengi for the latinum they had just won in a "contest". Torek and Pitt worked together in not only defeating the Ferengi, but also taking their latinum. On his way back to Utopia Planitia, the Obsidian Order captured Torek thinking that the gravity plating he was working on was part of a secret weapon being developed by Starfleet Intelligence. Learning of this, the Maquis came and extradited Torek and gave him a shuttle to return to Starfleet provided that Torek negotiate for the release of a captured Maquis member. A while later, Torek was offered the position of executive officer aboard the U.S.S. Gladiator under the command of his old friend, now Commodore, Tlaloc Pitt. He later transferred to be the head of the Gladiator's Diplomatic Department. | ||
